Responsibilities

• Lead and support the receiving team to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and guide team members.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against PO/shipping docs.
• Store materials and organize inventory in designated locations.
• Operate stand‑up forklifts and other handling equipment.
• Maintain inventory records and participate in cycle counts.
• Use SAP or other systems to track materials and transactions.
• Investigate discrepancies and report issues to responsible personnel.
• Prepare, package, and move materials to support production/shipping.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe receiving area.
• Support training, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department.

Lead Receiving Material Handler – Holland, OH

Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring a Lead Receiving Material Handler for an elevator and escalator manufacturing company in Holland, OH. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced material handler with strong leadership skills, stand-up forklift experience, and familiarity with inventory management systems. In this role, you will help lead the receiving team while ensuring incoming materials are accurately processed, organized, and delivered to the appropriate departments to support production operations.

Pay: $23.00/hour, with a pay increase upon permanent hire. Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Overtime: Flexibility required, including extended hours as needed, potentially 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the receiving team to ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Help coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and provide guidance to team members.
• Receive, identify, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Store materials, supplies, tools, and equipment in designated locations.
• Ensure materials are accurately recorded and delivered to the appropriate departments.
• Operate stand‑up forklifts and other material handling equipment to move and organize inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in cycle counts.
• Use SAP or other inventory management systems to track incoming materials and inventory transactions.
• Investigate discrepancies involving damaged, missing, or incorrect materials and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare, package, and move materials as needed to support production and shipping operations.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe receiving area.
• Support training, teamwork, and continuous improvement efforts within the department.
• Follow all company safety procedures and material handling guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous material handling, warehouse, or receiving experience.
• Strong stand‑up forklift experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to guide, support, and communicate effectively with team members.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a lead, team lead, or supervisory role.
• Experience using SAP, MRP, ERP, or other inventory management systems.
• Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and receiving documentation.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
