This role involves performing a variety of shipping and receiving tasks, maintaining accurate records of all materials received, inspecting shipments, reconciling packing slips or manifests with actual items, and verifying that materials are delivered to the correct departments or properly stored in the warehouse. You will prepare items for shipment, ensuring cost-effective courier services, and lead the work of shipping and receiving personnel, overseeing the entire process.

Responsibilities

Where You'll Make an Impact:

• Receive and unload incoming materials, compare quantities on packing slips to actual items received and purchase orders.
• Prepare bills of lading, check and record all items loaded for shipment, and select the most economical shipping method.
• Pack items securely using appropriate containers, maintain shipping records, and inspect items for damages, arranging returns if necessary.
• Enter receipt of goods into computerized inventory records, including item details and quantities.
• Operate equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts for loading and unloading.
• Reconcile physical inventory with computerized records, report discrepancies, over-shipment, or substitutions.
• Provide advice on supplies or property, coordinate disposal of surplus items, and manage record retention.
• Maintain cleanliness of the receiving area, including loading docks and trash areas, and maximize workload efficiency.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

• Three to five years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse techniques, supervising people and processes.
• Two-year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work in an environment with alcohol and smoking.

• Must be able to secure and maintain licensure as required by the Virginia Gaming Control Board or other relevant authorities.
