Overview
Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Keeps accurate records of all materials received, inspects shipments, reconciles packing slips or manifests with actual items, and verifies that materials are delivered to the correct departments or properly stored in the warehouse. Prepares items for shipment, ensuring cost-effective courier services. Leads the work of shipping and receiving personnel, performing related work. Responsible for the entire shipping and receiving process.

Responsibilities

• Receives and unloads incoming materials, compares quantities on packing slips to actual items received and purchase orders. Prepares bills of lading, checks and records all items loaded for shipment. Selects appropriate shipping containers, packs items securely, and maintains shipping records. Inspects items, reports damages, and arranges returns. Enters receipt of goods into inventory records.
• Operates dolly, pallet jack, and forklift for loading/unloading. Spot-checks inventory daily, reconciles computer records with physical inventory, and reports discrepancies.
• Provides advice on supplies and property, manages disposal of surplus property, and maintains records.
• Maintains cleanliness of receiving area, maximizes workload efficiency, and ensures proper procedures are followed.
