Job summary

Gold Medal Environmental/Patriot Disposal in Egg Harbor Township, NJ seeks a Rear-load Driver to lead from the front and keep communities running. You will operate safely, back up routes, and load waste with helpers while maintaining courteous residential service.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Valid DOT medical certification.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong vehicle control, including backing, turning, and maneuvering in tight or congested environments.
• Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Utilize safe backing procedures, including coordination with helpers.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately.
• Complete routes safely, on time, and in accordance with service and productivity expectations.
• Maintain route pace in high-volume environments.
• Follow route sheets and dispatcher instructions.
• Ensure helpers follow safe work practices and company procedures while on route.
• Work closely with helpers to collect and load waste into the truck.
• Assist with loading waste when needed.
• Ensure safe coordination with helpers, especially during backing operations.
• Provide courteous service to residential customers.
• Ensure streets and collection areas are left clean and free of debris.
• Report service issues or missed pickups.
• Represent the company professionally at all times while in the field.
• Operate packer controls and loading mechanisms safely.
• Identify and report unacceptable or hazardous waste.
• Complete DVIRs, route sheets, and required documentation.
• Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the shift.
• Drivers are responsible for safe execution of their duties. The Safety Department provides training, standards, and oversight.
