Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in New York to steer an agile team building trusted, low-latency Python applications for intraday risk and PnL in Rates Live Risk & PnL. You will own critical components across data, calculation services, UI and operations tooling in a fast-paced front-office setting.

The role emphasizes architecture ownership, production excellence, and collaboration with traders and platform partners to ensure performance and resiliency under tight

Qualifications

• 5+ years in coding Java or Python with production services
• Experience in financial markets and risk/PnL concepts
• System design leadership with production stability focus
• Real-time, low-latency, high-throughput architectures
• CI/CD, observability, and secure engineering practices
• Ability to lead technical design discussions and mentor peers

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Python-based live risk and PnL apps
• Translate business needs from Rates traders into reliable solutions
• Drive architecture decisions and ensure performance and reliability
• Write secure, high-quality production code with correctness and speed
• Own architecture artifacts for real-time systems with latency targets
• Improve monitoring, alerts, and runbooks; participate in on-call
• Collaborate with DevOps to enhance CI/CD and deployment reliability
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and guidance
• Identify systemic issues and drive long-term platform improvements
• Foster a diverse, inclusive, and respectful team culture
