Job summary

JPMorganChase in New York–Area for a Lead Software Engineer role to architect and deliver trusted technology products on the Rates Live Risk & PnL team. You will build and operate low-latency Python applications used by Rates trading desks for intraday risk, PnL, and decision support.

Qualifications

5+ years coding in Java or Python with production services and performance-sensitive apps.
Financial markets background (Rates, risk, PnL, market data).
Experience in system design, development, testing, and production stability.
Strong real-time/distributed system concepts (concurrency, messaging, caching, failure modes).
Experience delivering software in large corporate environments with engineering standards (testing, security, SDLC).
Proven CI/CD, observability, incident response, and production monitoring experience.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of Python-based live risk and PnL apps with high performance and reliability.
Collaborate with Rates traders and stakeholders to translate business needs into low-latency solutions.
Drive architectural decisions and technical troubleshooting with focus on production excellence.
Write secure, high-quality production code prioritizing correctness and stability.
Own architecture artifacts for real-time systems ensuring latency, throughput, and availability targets.
