Job summary

State of Maryland seeks a seasoned property appraisal professional to lead residential and commercial valuation tasks in Towson. You will coordinate appeals, reassessment work, and ensure fair market value for tax calculations, while supervising staff and maintaining deadlines.

The role requires expertise in CAMA and AAVS databases, with strong analytical and legal/procedural capabilities to coach staff for hearings and proper valuation practices.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience in appraisal and four years in tax assessment valuation of real property.
• Completion of IAAO Course 101, 102, and 300 or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of required appraisal experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct residential appeals and review PTAAB and MD Tax Court case materials.
• Oversee residential reassessment assignment and review work logs and samples.
• Manage database edits and ensure accurate neighborhood adjustments and land rates.
