Job summary

Hilo Labs is seeking a Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused) to build scalable backends and turn Figma designs into production-ready features. You’ll join a small, fast-moving team on client projects, then own entire projects as you grow.

You’ll work across the stack—from Nest.js/Node.js/PHP backends to Vue/Ionic/React frontends—collaborating via GitHub, Jira, and Notion. AWS familiarity and DevOps workflows are a plus as you grow toward lead developer responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of full stack development experience.
• Strong backend architecture and API design knowledge.
• Experience with at least one frontend framework (Vue, React, or Ionic).
• Familiar with AWS and CI/CD concepts.
• Excellent communication and proactive mindset.
• Excited to grow into a lead developer role.
• Willing to put in extra effort when deadlines demand it.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend systems with Node.js, Nest.js or PHP.
• Integrate frontends from Figma designs into apps.
• Collaborate with developers via GitHub, Jira, Notion.
• Shape architecture to balance scalability and speed.
• Oversee deployments and DevOps workflows (AWS a plus).
• Communicate progress clearly to clients and teams.
