Job summary

Trinity Rail in Sunray, TX is seeking a Lead Technician for Mobile Repair/Mechanical to inspect and repair railcars, ensuring compliance with standards and safety procedures.

You will lead repair projects, verify invoicing and work orders, and maintain strong customer relations while traveling to various locations as required. Knowledge of AAR rules and advanced railcar expertise is a plus.

Qualifications

• Welding experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to use all types of hand tools.
• Must meet DOT requirements to operate CMVs under 26k GVWR.
• DOT physical and Trinity road test completion may be required.
• Subject to annual certifications of violations and driving record checks.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars to ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform repairs using current procedures.
• Ensure accurate invoicing, inspection, and work orders.
• Lead safety assessments and participate in safety initiatives.
• Create complex orders for billing and final sign-offs on completed work.
• Travel to remote locations and work at customer sites as needed.
