King County Metro Transit is seeking a Rail Superintendent for Signaling and Radio Systems in Seattle. Lead a diverse team across signaling, maintenance, and operations to ensure safe, reliable rail service.

The role emphasizes collaboration with unions and external partners, budget stewardship, and strategic planning to support the Link Light Rail network across the Puget Sound region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering, Public Administration) or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of transit signaling, rail operations, and safety standards.
• Experience supervising in a unionized public transit environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise work group chiefs, supervisors and staff; ensure compliance with transit policies and regulations.
• Analyze, forecast, and report maintenance trends and performance metrics.
• Develop maintenance programs for light rail equipment and infrastructure.
• Coordinate signaling and radio work with other agencies and contractors; review plans and contracts.
• Develop contingency and emergency operating plans and procedures; ensure safety and quality standards.
• Manage rail maintenance budgets and vendor contracts; oversee expenditures within authority.
• Participate in internal and external work groups and project teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
