Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a Cost Estimator to provide independent cost estimates for light rail extension trackwork and systems, supporting change orders, value engineering, and claims analysis in Seattle.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of heavy civil/rail estimating experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and professional credentials (PE preferred; AACE CCP or ASPE CPE preferred). On-site work in Seattle is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Approximately 10+ years of construction cost estimating experience on heavy civil, transit, or rail projects.
• PE license preferred or equivalent certification (e.g., PMP).
• Certified Cost Estimator credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares independent cost estimates (ICE) of proposed changes for comparison with Contractor cost proposals.
• Supports change order price negotiations through cost analysis and estimating support.
• Reviews contractor and consultant cost proposals for completeness and contract compliance.
• Prepares cost estimates for trackwork, systems, and civil scopes.
• Supports value engineering efforts and MACC negotiation support.
• Provides cost/schedule analysis to evaluate contractor claims.
• Performs cost-benefit analyses of accelerations and mitigation strategies.
• Offers estimating support for what-if scenario studies.
