Job summary

Allina Health is hiring a Radiology Technologist to lead day-to-day operations in General Radiology within an outpatient clinic setting. The position is .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 week pay period) with an 8 hour day/evening shift and no weekend rotation. A $7,500 starting bonus is available for eligible external talent.

Responsibilities

• Ensures imaging and documentation are accurately transferred to the imaging storage system.
• Maintains workflow and communicates readiness with staff and other areas.
• Supports the team by providing feedback, information, and ideas; performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Provides day-to-day leadership and direction for technical services in General Radiology under the direction of the radiologist, providing timely and quality services to patients. Follows Imaging Department policies to maintain a safe, efficient and economical environment. Interacts with patients to welcome, explain and respond to questions or concerns during and following the procedure. Individuals in this role will work in an outpatient clinic setting.

Principle Responsibilities

• Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines
  • Identifies patient with two identifiers.
  • Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure.
  • Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs.
  • Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area.
• Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintains work knowledge and competence.
  • Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images.
  • Verifies all imaging has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.
• Provides accurate clerical function
  • Uses Excellian (electronic medical record).
  • Understands the Enterprise Medical Imaging/Picture Archiving and Communication System.
  • Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure.
• Works to maintain daily work flow of General Radiology department
  • Communicates with staff and other areas for patient readiness.
  • Provides feedback to staff regarding areas of improvement.
  • Reports to leadership problems, issues or ideas.
  • Gives assistance, information, and ideas to support the work of the team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program
• 2 to 5 years as Radiology Technologist, previous experience leading teams preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required must be registered upon hire

• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
• Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands

• Medium Work*:
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $32.92 to $45.12 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
