Job summary

Relativity Space seeks a technical lead and responsible engineer for a wideband UHF shallow radar sounder on a Mars orbiter mission. You will own the instrument from design through spacecraft integration, calibration, and commissioning with no hand-off, coordinating across RF, digital, power, and mechanical disciplines.

You will also define calibration schemes, lead waveform development, and oversee hardware from brass-board to flight designs, collaborating with science partners to meet mission

Qualifications

• 7+ years in electrical hardware development (radar/SDR)
• Experience developing radar system performance budgets
• Experience analyzing radar returns and performance

Responsibilities

• Own the radar electronics, signal processing chain, and antenna system at vehicle level
• Lead waveform trades and baseline algorithms with science partners
• Lead hardware development from prototype to flight designs
• Define calibration schemes for radar and radiometer modes
• Coordinate RF, digital, power, mechanical, firmware, and software across teams
• Lead instrument qualification, spacecraft integration, and test campaigns
• Perform spectrum licensing and frequency coordination for operation and testing
