Job summary

SRCTec LLC, a not-for-profit defense contractor in Syracuse, NY, seeks a Principal Systems Test Engineer to lead the design and execution of test strategies for radar, CUAS, and electronic warfare systems within Advanced Manufacturing. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust test capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in system-level testing, integration, or verification in aerospace/defense or regulated industries.
• Deep understanding of systems engineering and test strategy development for complex RF products.
• Hands-on experience with automated test systems, data analysis, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with MBSE, digital threads, and digital test environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design test strategies, architectures, and plans aligned with system requirements.
• Interpret results, identify root causes, and quantify variation using DOE and statistical methods.
• Apply MSA/GR&R, calibration strategy, uncertainty quantification.
• Translate subsystem behavior and tolerances into measurable test parameters.
• Develop system and subsystem test procedures to minimize failures.
• Evaluate trade studies to improve accuracy, repeatability, and yield.
• Troubleshoot issues with root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Perform simulations, modeling, and data analysis with MATLAB and/or Python.
• Develop production test software using LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay current with systems engineering tools.
