Job summary

Chip Ganassi Racing in Indianapolis is seeking a Lead Race Engineer to support the Race Engineer, providing expertise in data acquisition, performance analysis, and optimizing race car operations during events.

You will work closely with drivers, strategists, mechanics, and other engineers to enhance vehicle performance, develop pit strategies, and contribute to race car development from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree required.
• Experience in IndyCar, IMSA, team internships, or Formula SAE programs essential.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, aerodynamics, and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with drivers, engineers, and mechanics to manage race car operations during events.
• Optimize race car specifications and evolve them for enhanced performance.
• Analyze car performance data to provide actionable insights.
• Develop pit stop strategies in partnership with the strategist.
• Contribute to race car development projects, from inception to completion.
• Conduct off-track testing and measure vehicle performance.
• Create analytical tools to maximize vehicle efficiency.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of the vehicle to support improvement and data sharing processes.
