Job summary

General Motors’ IndyCar Trackside Engineering team at the Charlotte Technical Center is seeking a 2027 Summer Intern to help turn vehicle, simulation, and race-event data into actionable engineering insights and recommendations for the trackside organization. This role emphasizes data-driven analysis and clear technical communication.

You’ll work closely with race engineers and powertrain partners on performance analyses, tool development, and repeatable workflows, with a focus on safety,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in STEM fields listed.
• Graduating between Dec 2027 and Jun 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during summer.
• Able to work onsite at the Charlotte Technical Center.

Responsibilities

• Analyze vehicle-performance, telemetry, and data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Prepare pre-event analyses, setup comparisons, and post-event summaries.
• Develop and maintain analysis tools, dashboards, and workflows.
• Assist investigations on vehicle dynamics, tire performance, fuel efficiency, strategy, and reliability.
• Communicate findings through concise presentations and reports.
• Collaborate with GM engineers while maintaining data quality and confidentiality.
