Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an R&D Systems Engineer to lead evaluation and qualification efforts for the W93/Mk7 Navy Reentry System program. The role requires coordinating with internal facilities, external agencies, and customers to align testing, modeling, and data analysis activities.

The position emphasizes cross‑functional collaboration, program management, and ensuring safety, security, and quality across ground and flight testing activities, with some travel and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and 5 years of directly related experience or equivalent.
• DOE Q clearance or equivalent with ability to obtain Sigma 15 security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish modeling, simulation, and physical testing strategy for JTA systems.
• Engage with partner design agencies to define test objectives and coordinate efforts.
• Manage programmatic commitments and communications with customers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate logistics with testing facilities and on-site support.
• Lead planning and execution of systems testing activities and readiness reviews.
• Develop specifications and documentation for test and modeling strategies and data analysis.
• Create verification plans to meet test requirements including flight test objectives.
• Collaborate with SME to conduct pre-test modeling and analyses.
• Prepare presentations and support documentation for technical reviews.
