Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of relevant research experience required.
• Proven ability to manage or contribute to a technical project and generate new ideas to solve problems.
• Demonstrated success mentoring junior personnel.
• Projects require knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories in area of expertise.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, development, and improvement of Gentex technology; engage in R&D, testing, and evaluation of novel technologies and processes.
• Assist in development of new production processes, materials and products.
• Contribute to Gentex patent strategy and related activities.
• Identify suppliers or partners to improve quality, reduce cost, or simplify manufacturing.
• Document and analyze experimental data; prepare technical reports and analyses.
• Coordinate lab activities across R&D groups; mentor group members.
• Lead cross-functional teams and report findings to senior leadership.
• Ensure smooth product launches into production and coordinate assembly/testing of new products.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Mathematics or a related field.
