Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person for Forks Of The River Quarry in Knoxville, TN. The role emphasizes safety, dependable performance, and communication of standards across the team to ensure safe production.

The Lead will coordinate with supervisors, participate in safety activities, and help develop mining plans and maintenance scheduling. Hours are 7AM–5PM with weekend work as needed; travel between quarry locations is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Three years of experience in building materials, mining or aggregates
• Demonstrated safety-consciousness and ability to communicate standards across a team

Responsibilities

• Perform standard office and plant duties, equipment inspections, and operate related equipment
• Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of operation
• Perform regular safety inspections and address housekeeping and mechanical issues
• Enforce safety rules and procedures per regulations and company policies
• Coordinate with supervisors to schedule maintenance on equipment
• Complete annual performance evaluations for team members
• Participate in plant safety committee activities
• Contribute to mining plans, forecasts, and budgeting with management
• Prepare daily production, safety, and maintenance reports
• Maintain plant housekeeping and product quality per applicable standards
• Assist in training co-workers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
