The Lead will coordinate with supervisors, participate in safety activities, and help develop mining plans and maintenance scheduling. Hours are 7AM–5PM with weekend work as needed; travel between quarry locations is required.
Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for communicating standards of excellence in the daily work assignments of assigned team in order to meet safe production as outlined by Management. The Lead person will communicate standards through stated goals, daily interactions, team meetings, providing input on employee performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations.
Forks Of The River Quarry
Knoxville, TN
Hours: 7AM - 5PM, weekends as necessary
Performing standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operates mobile equipment
Establishing and maintains effective communications within all areas of operation
Performing regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation
Implementing and applying all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
Working closely with the Sr. Team Coordinator and Production Supervisor to insure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment
Completing annual performance evaluations on team members
Participating on plant safety committee
Working with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Sr. Team Coordinator in developing mining plans, profit plans, AFE'S, and monthly forecast
Completing daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately
Maintaining plant housekeeping and appearance standards and product quality as established by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
Have three (3) years of experience in in the building materials, mining or aggregates industry
