Job summary

Atom Computing, based in Berkeley, designs quantum computers using neutral atoms. We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to oversee operations and upgrades of existing systems and to manage a portfolio of research programs that accelerate the Atom Computing roadmap.

You will work with scientists, engineers, and business colleagues to define requirements, manage risks, and ensure delivery across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in engineering, physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience in systems engineering, quantum, and/or R&D program management at multi-disciplinary deep tech companies.

Responsibilities

• Provide program management for operation and upgrades of neutral atom hardware.
• Manage a portfolio of research projects to advance the roadmap.
• Collaborate with scientific, engineering, and business owners to define requirements and plans.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and changes.
• Partner with teams to drive design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Define and track metrics and KPIs; drive cross-functional delivery.
• Develop communication plans to report status and risks to stakeholders.
• Identify and analyze technical problems with engineering leaders to find solutions.
• Collaborate with managers to allocate time for advanced tech development.
• Support grant applications related to the project portfolio.
• Collaborate with external partners to achieve goals.
