Job summary

Atom Computing in Berkeley, CA, seeks a Quantum Software Manager to lead a team of software engineers and quantum software engineers, guiding research-oriented workflows and delivering robust software for fault-tolerant quantum computing. You will balance hands-on contributions with leadership, interfacing across a diverse team to transform prototype software into polished products.

Atom Computing is seeking a Quantum Software Manager to drive innovation at the intersection of scientific research, software development, and integration. In this role, you’ll balance hands-on technical contributions with team leadership to build and support world-class scientific workflows. You’ll work across the full stack—empowering engineers and physicists to deploy software to support ongoing research and development efforts as well as helping to transform prototype software into robust and polished products. The quantum error correction team consists of a mix of mathematicians, experimental and theoretical physicists, and software engineers and this role requires interfacing across a range of backgrounds and skillsets. This role reports to the Director of Quantum Error Correction.

This role is required to be in the office in Berkeley at least 3 days per week.

• Strong background in software development, including experience with research-oriented scientific software
• A high tolerance for uncertainty and ambiguity
• Collaborative mindset and experience working on a multidisciplinary team
• Experience with quantum computing and quantum error correction are preferred

$200,000 - $250,000 a year

The base salary range for this position is between $200,000 - $250,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer an annual bonus and equity in the company.
