Job summary

Atom Computing, Inc. seeks a Quantum Engineer in Boulder to design and build the hardware and control interfaces powering neutral-atom quantum computers. You will join a team translating atomic physics into scalable, fault-tolerant hardware.

The role requires a PhD in a related field and 4+ years of industry experience with atomic physics, light–matter interactions, and collaborative work across experiment and engineering teams. Python and Git are preferred skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques in atomic physics and quantum computing research.
• Deep understanding of light–matter interactions.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers.
• Proven track record of leading high-impact technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and construct the scientific hardware and control interfaces (hardware and software) for the quantum computing platform.
• Generate intellectual property related to neutral-atom quantum computers.
• Distill and communicate findings internally and in external publications.
• Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds.
