Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Pullman, WA seeks a Quality Technician II to lead a small team of quality professionals and provide hands-on support to manufacturing operations.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components, oversee inspection and testing activities, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure product conformance and process stability.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience in engineering/science field.
• 3+ years experience with electronics and/or mechanical assemblies.
• 1-2 years experience leading people with daily direction and feedback.
• Working knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience using manufacturing software/tools and documenting quality data.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of quality technicians to ensure consistent inspection, testing, and quality processes.
• Communicate quality findings, trends, and results to stakeholders across manufacturing, engineering, and leadership.
• Assign work, prioritize tasks, and provide day-to-day direction to meet production and quality objectives.
• Learn new technical topics to improve troubleshooting effectiveness and team capability.
• Troubleshoot and characterize electrical and mechanical components to identify root causes.
