Job summary

  • Calibrate equipment and perform CIP verification, setup, and performance.
  • Organize storage, housekeeping, and waste management.
  • Maintain lab inventory (Kanban) and manage concentrate controls.

Lead Lab Technician

The Lead Lab Technician operates, monitors, and makes adjustments on the blending equipment to assure product quality, reviews daily records for accuracy, trains new associates, and works with the team to ensure only the highest quality products are manufactured.

Responsibilities
  • Perform micro blend operation.
  • Test finished products, packages, water, syrup, and high-fructose corn syrup.
  • Monitor production lines for beverage quality.
  • Calibrate equipment.
  • Test and treat water.
  • Microbiology: collect, plate, read, and record.
  • Receive concentrate controls.
  • Manage lab inventory (Kanban).
  • Train new technicians.
  • Perform CIP verification, setup, and performance.
  • Organize storage, perform housekeeping, and remove trash.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent or three (3) years of quality control experience.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Background in chemistry and laboratory environment preferred.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Analytical thinking ability.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination.
  • Self‑motivated with strong initiative.
  • Ability to learn and follow established procedures without deviation.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong training and leadership skills.
  • Availability to work required hours.
Essential Mental and Physical Functions

Requires constant visual attention and continuous mental effort. Work position: 67%-100% of the time required to stand, 34%-66% required to walk, occasionally climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Equipment Used

Analytical lab equipment, calculator, computer, microblend, syrup room equipment, water treatment equipment and deaireator.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None required.

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English proficiently.
