Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. in the United States seeks a seasoned Plant Quality Assurance Manager to lead GMP, food safety, and regulatory compliance across the bakery network.

You will drive the site quality and food safety program, oversee audits, and guide corrective actions to ensure safe, high-quality products that meet customer expectations. You will manage a QA team, maintain the Quality Manual, and track KPIs while ensuring adherence to GFSI standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of plant QA/QC experience in the food industry, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related discipline.
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and GFSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage all Good Manufacturing, Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance programs within assigned bakery.
• Lead and manage the site quality and food safety team to assure high quality, safe and compliant products.
• Oversee audits and inspections by third party inspectors and coordinate with teams on quality program management.
• Maintain the Quality Manual and ensure KPI tracking for food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate disposition of Hold/Release products per Corporate policies.
• Update formulas to ensure nutritional panel compliance and maintain environmental monitoring per standards.
• Assess and respond to product complaints and drive root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Ensure annual Food Safety certification and continuous improvement of QA processes.
