Job summary

The Marvin Group, including Marvin Engineering (MEC), is seeking a Lead Quality Control Inspector for the 2nd shift in Inglewood, CA. This onsite role requires GD&T certification or equivalent experience, and leadership of QC personnel to ensure conformance to MEC requirements.

You'll perform first piece validations, monitor 6S, and prepare inspection reports while coordinating with manufacturing. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• GD&T certification or 5 years GD&T experience.
• Minimum 5 years as a QC inspector.
• Minimum 2 years leadership in aerospace/defense.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Able to perform basic math and lift 35 lbs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections to ensure compliance with MEC requirements, using blueprints, GD&T, specs, contractual documents, and visual inspection methods.
• Oversee QC Inspectors, assist in one-on-one meetings, and follow the Lead Roles and Responsibilities checklist.
• Monitor inspector clock-in/out times and breaks.
• Review, approve, and audit Quality Notifications (QN) and inspection reports from direct reports.
• Monitor 6S practices and document any FOD or safety incidents/near misses.
• Log estimated completion dates and inspection statuses into SAP for each order/PO.
• Generate inspection reports per MEC policy.
• Identify non-conforming material and generate QN per MEC policy.
• Perform first piece validations to support manufacturing areas.
