Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer skilled in Playwright and Selenium to join our Quality Engineering team for critical financial applications. You will design, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests, perform API and data validation, and collaborate with developers, BAs, and stakeholders to ensure quality across the SDLC.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, CI/CD integration, and a strong focus on test strategy, automation architecture, and UAT support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IT/Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of Software QA and Testing experience.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end test cases for web-based applications.
• Develop and maintain UI automation test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) and Selenium WebDriver (Java).
• Build reusable automation components using POM, fixtures, and data-driven testing.
• Automate critical business workflows and regression scenarios to improve coverage and execution efficiency.
• Perform cross-browser UI validation and troubleshoot automation failures, locator issues, and sync problems.
• Perform API functional and integration testing using Postman, REST Assured, or Playwright API testing.
• Develop automated API tests to validate payloads, status codes, headers, authentication, and error handling.
• Execute data validation using SQL queries to verify data accuracy across UI, APIs, and databases.
• Integrate automated UI and API tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and publish clear reports.
