Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to stand up the first Pumped Fluid Loop work center, ensuring manufacturability and transition to rate production. You will lead DFMs with design teams, develop flow, tooling, and test setups for high-power satellite systems.

In this role you will collaborate with engineers and technicians, build capacity models, and help scale production to meet multiple launch programs through 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience creating, improving, and deleting production process/workflows.
• Experience with CAD software and CAD models.
• Experience qualifying (vibrational and thermal) testing of components/assemblies.
• Experience in assembling fluid systems and leak testing.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the work center to manufacture and assemble Pumped Fluid Loop.
• Lead DFM with design engineering teams to optimize cost, quality, scalability and risk.
• Develop manufacturing planning and build flows for fluid systems.
• Develop and deploy automation concepts and tooling systems to support production rate.
• Collaborate with Engineers/Technicians to disposition nonconformances and corrective actions.
• Act as manufacturing point of contact for system fill, proof, and leak.
• Develop capacity models and rate ramp strategies for program growth.
