Job summary

K2 Space Corporation is seeking a senior thermal systems engineer to own the development, implementation and testing of thermal control systems for spacecraft. You will drive design verification of both active and passive systems, including pump loops, heat pipes, and ground support equipment.

You will collaborate with design engineers early to ensure manufacturability, design build flow, and transition to production, while building prototypes and test campaigns for space-qualified hardware.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of thermal test experience in high-rate manufacturing.
• 2+ years sizing and testing fluid systems including pumps and heat exchangers.
• Experience with data acquisition for thermal and power applications.
• Experience with test plan development and execution.
• Strong knowledge of thermal and TVAC testing, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.
• NX or AutoCAD used for design test fixtures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design active and passive thermal control systems using heat transfer principles.
• Plan and develop thermal cycle and thermal-vacuum testing campaigns.
• Develop heater and cooling systems including control architecture.
• Set up and maintain test stands and instrumentation.
• Develop data acquisition systems for thermal control systems.
• Conduct tests on pump fluid loops and related hardware; create test scripts.
• Document procedures, test reports, and SOPs.
