Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a manufacturing engineer to lead the clean-sheet production of our Pumped Fluid Loop, ensuring manufacturability, building the first prototype, and planning the transition from design to rate production.

You will stand up the fluid components work center, drive DFM with design teams, develop build flows, and iterate tooling and stations in year one to enable rapid program growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or computer).
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience creating and improving production processes and workflows.
• Experience using CAD software and CAD models.
• Experience qualifying components and assemblies (vibration and thermal).
• Experience assembling fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the manufacturing work center for Pumped Fluid Loop.
• Lead DFM efforts with design teams to optimize cost, quality, scalability and risk.
• Develop manufacturing plans and build flows for the satellite’s fluid systems.
• Develop and deploy advanced manufacturing technologies, automation concepts, and tooling systems to support increasing production rate.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to disposition nonconformances and corrective actions.
• Act as the manufacturing point of contact for system fill, proof, and leak.
• Develop capacity models and rate ramp strategies to support rapid program growth.
