Job summary

Fisica, Inc. in San Leandro, CA is hiring a Lead Pulsed Power Engineer to own the design, development, and testing of pulsed power systems.

The role involves end-to-end work from design to prototype to manufacturing, with opportunities to push products in HPM and NDT applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive pulsed power experience, strong lab skills, and the ability to lead a small team while communicating results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in EE/Physics with ≥10 years experience.
• Experience with pulsed power circuits and diagnostics (>50 kV, <500 ns).
• Ability to set up a lab or manufacturing environment from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, simulation, prototyping, & testing of pulsed power systems driving different loads.
• Define technical requirements with product management and engineers.
• Develop novel architectures for pulsed power systems based on solid state building blocks.
• Lead a team in prototyping, benchtop testing, and major field tests.
• Perform circuit analysis & electrostatic simulation to predict performance and validate results.
• Collaborate with partners to integrate the pulsed power driver with x-ray or HPM loads.
• Communicate results of experiments or simulations to the team or customers.
• Ensure lab safety protocols are followed.
