Job summary

Fuse Energy in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the end-to-end mechanical design of pulsed-power machines, partnering with electrical, controls, and pulsed-power teams to convert requirements into hardware.

You will drive design reviews, maintain drawing packages, and remain hands-on through assembly and testing while coordinating with vendors and site teams to guarantee builds meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of CAD modeling with SolidWorks/Siemens NX; internships count toward this requirement.
• Experience working on a team toward a common goal.
• Ability to create detailed drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5; participate in design reviews.
• Experience hosting design reviews and iterating in fast-paced development.
• Experience with weldment and sheet-metal design and fabrication constraints.
• 1+ years of FEA with hand-calculation verification.
• Willingness to travel bi-coastally.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end mechanical design of pulsed-power machines from concept to detailed design.
• Gather requirements from electrical and controls teams into cohesive mechanical designs.
• Coordinate procurement and manufacturing with vendors to meet specs and schedules.
• Drive design reviews and manage drawing packages; oversee assembly during testing.
• Oversee site work and field technical questions; support builds and iterations.
