Job summary

The State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) invites applications for the PBS4 – Regional Auditor in Lynnwood, WA. This hybrid role leads staff, audits case work, and guides training while safeguarding PII and overseeing financial eligibility determinations.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Washington public assistance programs and accurate eligibility re-determination.
• Ability to navigate and apply WAC, RCW, and internal manuals correctly.
• Experience interpreting complex data and making high-stakes decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assigns work to Public Benefits Specialist staff who process cash, medical, and/or food benefits.
• Audits/reviews work of Public Benefits Specialist staff and reports on staff progress.
• Detects error trends via audits to identify training needs.
• Performs complex duties in establishing financial eligibility and policy interpretation.
• Reviews cases and analyzes actions; contacts staff/agencies for clarification.
• Supports regional initiatives and provides feedback to training staff.
