Job summary

The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) seeks a Registered Nurse Charge Psychiatric to provide comprehensive nursing care to youth in a behavioral health setting at the Juvenile Justice Center in Baltimore.

You will conduct assessments, administer medications, document care in SOAPE format, and contribute to a safe, supportive environment while meeting DJS standards and the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of RN experience with at least 1 year in psychiatric nursing.
• License as a Registered Nurse per Maryland Board requirements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree substitutions allowed for experience as noted.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments for admitted youth and respond to health needs.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Maintain accurate health records and SOAPE documentation.
• Enter and manage youth health information in ASSIST and ImmuNet.
• Offer health education and participate in employee health activities.
