Job summary

The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services seeks a Registered Nurse Charge Psychiatric to deliver comprehensive nursing care to youth in a behavioral health setting. You will perform assessments, administer medications, document health records, and support health education and employee health initiatives.

Required Maryland RN license with 2 years’ nursing experience, including 1 year in psychiatry; substitutions for education are allowed. CPR certification and ongoing CEUs are expected.

Qualifications

• RN license in Maryland is required.
• Two years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in psychiatric care.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree can substitute for experience per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care including assessments, admission testing, specimen collection, and responding to youth health needs.
• Transcribe orders and administer medications per physician/NP directives with accurate MARs.
