Job summary

You will read blueprints, prepare surfaces, collaborate with designers and engineers, operate shop equipment, and maintain a safe, organized workspace to support rapid iterative development of our defense technologies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in physical model builds.
• Ability to operate machining, fabrication, woodworking equipment.
• Sheet metal fabrication with various forming equipment.
• Welding of steel, stainless, and aluminum.
• Able to work with limited oversight and manage materials.
• Fit, surface and paint high quality physical models.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with aerospace/automotive background.
• Detail-oriented and able to meet quality standards.
• Knowledge of engineering design and model making procedures.
• Able to multi-task and work overtime/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Build scale physical design models using diverse fabrication techniques.
• Execute surface prep, sanding, bonding, and finishing for flawless results.
• Read and interpret design blueprints and drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and fellow fabricators.
• Maintain shop equipment and monitor inventory consumption.
• Keep the shop organized, safe, and compliant with standards.
• Participate in team meetings to improve workflow and efficiency.
