Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join the Development Fabrication team within Mechanical Services in Costa Mesa, CA. You will fabricate low-volume prototypes and weldments for advanced defense programs, owning the manufacturing process from concept to completion while collaborating with design engineers on fit-up and manufacturability.

You will read complex drawings/CAD, solve on-shop challenges, and contribute to the quality and delivery of critical national security

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on metal fabrication and welding experience in prototype, R&D, or low-volume production.
• 5+ years expertise in GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding (steel, stainless, aluminum, exotic alloys).
• Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and forming with precise tolerance control.
• Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Proficiency in basic conventional machining to +/- 0.005 inches.
• Adaptable problem-solver in dynamic R&D environments.
• Strong shop math and practical mechanical reasoning.
• Agile and mission-driven with shifting priorities.
• Direct communicator with design engineers on manufacturability.
• Team-oriented and mentor mindset.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders, determine efficient build plans and production sequences for timely delivery.
• Fabricate assemblies using welding, machining, layout, and finish work.
• Own R&D tasks end-to-end: evaluate, design, order material, and fabricate.
• Design and build weld fixtures to hold tight tolerances on complex weldments.
• Perform quality checks on finished hardware and flag issues early.
• Provide feedback to design engineers on manufacturability and buildability.
• Maintain safety per OSHA and internal shop standards.
