Job summary

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office seeks an experienced prosecutor to serve as Supervising Assistant District Attorney in the General Crimes Bureau. The role emphasizes legal supervision, mentorship, and strong courtroom leadership to develop attorneys and uphold ethics in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include overseeing case stages, guiding charging decisions, and coordinating training across the bureau while maintaining high standards of professionalism and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Admission to the New York State Bar required.
• U.S. Citizenship and New York State residency required on day one.
• 4+ years of trial experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of NY criminal law, procedure, and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ADAs through all stages of a case.
• Assess readiness for increased responsibility and provide opportunities; supervise and feedback as ADAs advance.
• Conduct case conferences and guide charging decisions, discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and sentencing.
• Coach, mentor, and provide regular feedback on legal analysis, prosecutorial judgment, courtroom advocacy, and professionalism.
• Observe ADAs during court appearances and provide guidance to strengthen litigation skills.
• Review caseloads to ensure progress and compliance with deadlines and policies.
• Identify training needs and coordinate coaching resources with Bureau leadership.
• Assist with attorney assignments, court coverage, scheduling, and workload distribution.
• Participate in Bureau and Office-wide training, mentorship, and development initiatives.
• Foster a professional, collaborative, and accountable work environment that supports development and retention.
• Maintain an appropriate caseload and handle complex or significant matters as needed.
