Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree required and NYS Bar admission.
• 4+ years of trial experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of New York criminal law and procedure.
• Proven ability to teach, coach, mentor, and develop attorneys.
• Demonstrated judgment and ability to balance high standards with mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide guidance to ADAs throughout all stages of a case.
• Assess attorney readiness for increased responsibility and provide appropriate opportunities and feedback.
• Conduct case conferences and guide charging decisions, discovery, motions, and hearings.
• Coach and mentor ADAs, providing regular feedback on legal analysis and courtroom advocacy.
• Observe ADAs in court and provide guidance to strengthen litigation skills.
• Review caseloads to ensure progress and compliance with deadlines and ethics.
