Job summary

Schochet is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician for Devenscrest Village in Ayer, MA. You will oversee daily maintenance operations, coordinate service contracts, inspect make-ready units and communicate with residents, vendors, and supervisors.

This role requires on-site availability and strong customer service skills. The Lead will assist a Maintenance Supervisor when needed and typically work with 3+ years of residential property maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and reliable

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of residential property maintenance experience.
• Must live within 30 minutes of Ayer, MA.
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently.
• Able to lift 30–60 lbs; occasional heavy lifting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and assist with daily operations (service orders, make-readies, turnovers).
• Coordinate service contracts and oversee vendor/contractor activities.
• Communicate effectively with residents, vendors and supervisors.
• Inspect vacated apartments and complete make-ready checklists; inform manager of needed services.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities.
• Lead maintenance duties and fill in for supervisor when unavailable.
