Job summary

Trane, within the Roanoke Area Energy Services group, is seeking a Project Superintendent to support on-site leadership for a major university dorm renovation. You will supervise field operations, coordinate trades, ensure safety, and align progress with project goals under the Project Manager.

You will drive planning and scheduling, manage subcontractors, guarantee quality, and maintain turnover readiness while upholding company standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; typically 5 years in general construction.
• Experience in project supervision, coordination, or related work.
• Procore experience preferred; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities for complete renovation of a university dormitory.
• Provide field supervision for building renovation, infrastructure upgrades, and utility trade work.
• Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff.
• Develop and maintain a safety‑driven, quality‑focused job-site culture.
• Partner with Project Manager to align field execution with project goals.
• Lead pull planning, short-interval planning, and look-ahead scheduling.
• Coordinate sequencing of demolition, abatement, structural modifications, MEP, and utilities.
• Manage milestone dates tied to academic calendars and phased turnover.
• Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, relocations, and commissioning of utilities.
• Enforce safety requirements per policy and OSHA regulations.
• Oversee inspections, testing, and turnover documentation.
• Oversight of punch lists and turnover requirements.
