Job summary

gpac has an opening for a Project Scheduler with a mechanical contractor in the St. Louis Metro.

The role partners with project managers, superintendents, preconstruction, and field teams to develop and maintain schedules for complex commercial and industrial construction projects. The right candidate will understand how work executes in the field, identify schedule risks early, and help the team keep work moving across multiple active projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction scheduling and project controls.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, or other complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of CPM scheduling and its practical application.
• Experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar scheduling software.
• Ability to read construction drawings and understand project sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules across multiple active projects.
• Build schedules around milestones, sequencing, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and closeout.
• Gather schedule updates from project managers, superintendents, field teams, and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and compare actual performance to baselines.
• Identify critical-path activities and schedule risks.
• Coordinate schedules with manpower, material lead times, equipment deliveries, and subcontractors.
• Prepare updates, forecasts, and reporting for teams and leadership.
• Support preconstruction and project planning on upcoming work.
