Job summary

SMS group in the United States seeks a Project Manager to lead rolling mill equipment rebuild projects from order receipt to final delivery. You will serve as the primary customer contact, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and workshop operations while coordinating across Operations, Materials, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, tracking milestones, managing budgets and change orders, and maintaining clear customer communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science/management; 7+ years of experience preferred.
• MBA, PMI certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience in a Project Management role and knowledge of PM procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer rebuild and repair projects.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and delivery commitments.
• Coordinate project execution with Operations, Materials, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams.
• Monitor project progress and identify risks related to schedule, materials, technical issues, and costs.
• Ensure customer requirements, specifications, and contractual obligations are communicated and executed.
• Facilitate project kickoff meetings, status reviews, and customer progress updates.
• Track project budgets, labor hours, material costs, and profitability.
• Manage scope changes, customer requests, and change order documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, quality documentation, testing activities, and final acceptance requirements.
• Escalate issues that may impact delivery, quality, safety, or profitability.
• Support quotation reviews and project handovers from Sales to Operations.
• Maintain accurate project reporting, forecasting, and customer communication.
