Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Project Manager to lead high-end residential HVAC and plumbing construction projects in Traverse City, MI. You’ll stay in the field, coordinate with builders, homeowners, and teams, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes field collaboration, problem solving, and ownership of project outcomes, with growth opportunities as the company expands its presence in Northern Michigan.

Qualifications

• Construction project management experience required.
• Residential construction experience strongly preferred.
• HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical construction experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience reading blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and job costing.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional time management.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Experience with construction software; ServiceTitan experience is a plus.
• Project Management degree is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple custom residential HVAC and plumbing construction projects end-to-end.
• Develop and maintain project schedules across active builds.
• Serve as primary contact between builders, homeowners, field teams, and internal departments.
• Review blueprints, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
• Monitor budgets, labor performance, timelines, and profitability.
• Conduct job-site visits to ensure quality, safety and schedule compliance.
• Coordinate with estimating, operations and field leadership for smooth execution.
• Resolve challenges quickly while maintaining customer relationships.
• Help improve processes and mentor team members as the company grows.
