Job summary

Graycor Construction Company is seeking a Project Manager II to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout at a distribution/industrial site in Illinois. You will drive safety, quality, and profitability while coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

You will manage a project team, oversee budgets and schedules, and mentor junior staff, while actively participating in bidding, contracting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years in construction operations on distribution center or light industrial projects.
• Bachelor degree in CM, engineering or related field preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Strong communication, leadership and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to develop critical path schedules with scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance and quality programs on the project site.
• Participate in bidding and pre-construction services.
• Represent Graycor as the client’s primary contact with owners, architects, engineers and subs.
• Manage performance of project engineers, assistant PMs, superintendents and admin staff.
• Control budget and schedule to maintain profitability.
• Execute subcontracts and purchase orders; approve invoices and change requests; negotiate changes; close-out.
• Mentor and train project engineers and assistant PMs.
• Lead initiatives and participate in committees on safety, quality and lean construction.
