Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Lead Project Engineer for the Butler Works facility in Butler, PA. You will lead capital, infrastructure, and continuous improvement projects from concept through startup, collaborating with operations, maintenance, contractors, and vendors to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

The role focuses on equipment reliability, plant performance, and infrastructure and process improvements in a dynamic heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and budget objectives.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project or similar PM software.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects involving design, procurement, installation, and startup of equipment and facilities.
• Develop project scopes, specifications, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Provide engineering support to Operations and Maintenance to improve reliability and safety.
• Oversee contractors, fabricators, suppliers, and vendors to meet safety, schedule, and budget goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, site orientation, permits, and safe work practices.
• Review and modify engineering drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and other tools.
• Maintain engineering documentation and project records.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance plant performance.
