Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works in Butler, PA has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer responsible for identifying process improvements and leading infrastructure projects. You will coordinate facilities upgrades, ensure safety compliance, and lead union workforce during maintenance outages.

Required are a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years in manufacturing or steel environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) required.
• Ability to perform/coordinate structural and civil project and infrastructure activities.
• Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, analytical, time management skills, and strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify process improvements and equipment/facility replacements to produce quality products.
• Organize, plan, develop, manage and implement projects for new or improved facilities and processes.
• Maintain safety compliance with designs, equipment, and installation activities.
• Participate in investigations and evaluations for proposed actions and equipment.
• Prepare equipment and construction installation specifications.
• Manage infrastructure programs including cranes, lifelines, roofs, and erosion control.
• Lead union workforce during planned maintenance outages.
• Coordinate civil and structural engineering for new projects and upgrades.
• Consult with operating, maintenance, research, and other personnel to obtain required information.
