Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to coordinate all technical activities on assigned land development projects. Plan, schedule, and oversee engineering work, ensure compliance with codes, and act as the main contact with client representatives and agency personnel.

The role requires a BSCE from an ABET accredited program, 5+ years in land development, and PE registration or ability to obtain it. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Project is expected.

Qualifications

• BSCE from ABET accredited college/university
• Five+ years of engineering experience related to Land Development Projects
• Registered and active PE, or ability to obtain PE license in the state of employment
• Strong management and leadership skills with aptitude to train E.I.T.s
• Experience with deliverables including work plans, contract documents, reports and correspondence
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office including MS Project
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work with DRH applications
• Proficiency with MS Office and email; ability to sit for long hours and travel overnight

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing a project team of E.I.T.s, CAD Designers and Technicians, Sub-consultants, and Contractors
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate financial and technical aspects of projects
• Coordinate Construction Phase Services including site visits, submittal reviews and pay applications
• Identify, interpret, and resolve technical project issues with minimal oversight
• Analyze and stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations
• Conduct business professionally to serve customers and increase goodwill and profit
• Ability to travel overnight
• Supervisory responsibilities: 2+ employees
