Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Project Architect to lead and collaborate on complex, high‑impact building projects across water, transit, and federal facilities. You’ll mentor junior staff and help deliver design solutions with lasting community impact.

From client design development to construction documents, you’ll coordinate with multi‑discipline teams, ensure code compliance, and support budgets and proposals. A Bachelor’s in Architecture, 7 years of experience, RA license, and NCARB reciprocity are

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
7 years of related experience.
Must possess RA certification.
Travel may be required (domestic and/or international).
NCARB reciprocity preferred.
Experience signing/sealing project documents preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee and mentor junior staff on building design and CD development.
Lead development and coordination of design and construction documents with multi-discipline staff.
Guide selection of materials and detailing approaches for projects.
Ensure compliance with planning, zoning, and building codes across jurisdictions.
Support project budgets and schedules; assist with proposals.
